The motion was seconded and the board voted to approve the revisions.
During discussion, a board member questioned whether previous remarks about the state superintendent's comments related to Title IX compliance. Troy Hamlin (staff) and other board members responded that the Title IX revisions align with current federal guidance and that the district had consulted legal counsel (WASB legal department) for clarification. Several board members said they were satisfied that the revisions maintain protections while aligning with law.
