Commission signs annual SHIP contract with regional council to support Medicare counseling services

Staff said the contract’s purpose is to maintain Jackson County’s participation in SHIP so the county can provide information, counseling and assistance on health-insurance matters to seniors and disabled residents. The period of performance runs from April 2025 through March 31, 2026. County staff said the county will receive a $5,000 allocation to help fund the program’s local administration.
Commissioners moved and approved the contract; staff will execute the agreement with the regional council and continue to oversee SHIP services in partnership with the council’s aging program.
Ending: The county will proceed under the regional council agreement for the SHIP program for the stated performance period and accept the $5,000 allocation toward program costs.
