Logan parks budget shifts rec center to school district, advances cemetery and trail projects

"We, have signed a, a memorandum of understanding and a lease agreement, with the Logan City School District to transfer our share of interest... so that they will take full capital ownership of, of the rec center," Russ said.
Parks staff outlined cemetery master-plan work that includes irrigation upgrades for efficiency, a columbarium (cremation garden) plan, and restroom improvements; staff said they will prepare dedicated public announcements for veterans who use the cemetery. Russ also described golf-course irrigation updates and a forthcoming cart-lease replacement.
Planned outdoor recreation projects listed for the coming year include completion of Maple View Neighborhood Park, improvements to the dog park near 1900 West, a disc-golf course and pavilion, pavement replacement at Willow Park Sports Complex, trail construction including a trail bridge crossing the Logan River at Trapper Park and extensions toward 10th West, and a trail-widening project on 1800 South to improve bicycle access. Russ said the 1800 South trail may use recycled-asphalt tailings or concrete, but crews must avoid impacting existing brick-wall footings in the springs subdivision corridor.
