Council retains city manager, approves 6% base-salary increase

The Coppell City Council voted May 13 to retain the city manager and increase his base salary by 6%, continuing other compensation and benefits under his current engagement contract.

Council Member Walker moved the action, asking to “retain the city manager in accordance with his current engagement contract with a 6% increase in base salary and continuation of other compensation and benefits as stated.” The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Don Carroll. Council Member Kevin Nevills publicly thanked the city manager for his leadership during brief discussion before the vote.

The motion passed by voice vote. The meeting record shows the vote as announced from the dais: “Walker, Hinoza Smith, Carol Nevels, Prem Kumar, Matthew Hill in favor. None opposed.
