Councilman Rollette asked the Lawrenceburg Redevelopment Commission at its May 5, 2025, meeting for an update on the Davis property as the anniversary of Resolution 1-2024 approaches.
“We're coming up on the anniversary date of resolution 1 dash 20 20 4 that we passed,” Councilman Rollette said during the public-comment portion of the meeting. “It's basically why I'm here tonight.”
Executive Director Brian Messmore told Rollette that staff and parties interested in the Davis property have been approached and that an initial-terms meeting is being scheduled. Messmore said one proprietor has contacted staff to begin discussing next steps and that staff expect further discussions soon; he summarized the status as moving forward but emphasized caution.
“We are moving forward with it,” Messmore said, adding that staff and commissioners want to avoid sacrificing a good outcome for speed. Council members and staff agreed the process remains active but did not announce any formal decisions or votes related to the Davis property at this meeting.
Staff indicated next steps include the initial-terms meeting with proprietors and additional outreach; no timetable for a closing or formal action was provided.
