Saucon Valley High School Student Government Association representatives presented the student-activities report at the May 13 board meeting, highlighting academic testing, performing-arts awards, athletic accomplishments and club competitions.
SGA representatives Zoe and Peter said students performed well on Keystone exams in biology and English literature and highlighted music and theater successes: the district’s indoor percussion ensemble earned silver at a Region 2 chapter championship and advanced as finalists at the East Coast championships in Wildwood, N.J.; the high school jazz band received an “outstanding” ranking at its festival and performed as part of a spring concert on May 16.
Athletics highlights included wrestling awards and qualifiers: Cole Hubert was named District 11 AAA Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year; Jackson Albert received the District 11 Christian Luciano Pinner Award; and Luke Chunko, Carter Chunko and Max Santoro qualified to compete in Fargo, North Dakota, at the USA High School National Championships.
Clubs and student leadership updates included the Envirothon team advancing to a live question-and-answer portion and students elected to the 2025–26 SGA. The report listed upcoming performances and requested canned-food donations at concerts that benefit the New Jerusalem food bank.
The student report closed with board and audience appreciation. The district did not take action on the student report; it was provided for information and community awareness.
