Jim Henry, a representative of the Edison Social Club, told the board the club — founded more than a century ago — voted to donate its facility at 3325 West Clinton Avenue, a 4.82‑acre site adjacent to Fontehley Elementary School. Henry estimated the donation’s value at roughly $1.0 million, subject to pending insurance claims; he said the club’s bylaws require donation to a nonprofit, church or school if the club disbands.
Director Rodriguez explained the district has inspected the property twice and that the donation trustee vote occurred in March 2025. During board questions, Trustee Carrillo confirmed the district’s legal counsel (Atkinson, Andelson) reviewed materials; Henry confirmed the property will be conveyed “as‑is” and that the board will have the opportunity to inspect in escrow. Trustee Kerfon thanked Henry for the donation and expressed confidence the district would maintain the facility.
Trustee Kirk moved to accept the donation; Trustee Grafon seconded. The board approved the donation 7‑0.
District staff said they would return any necessary details on escrow and inspection and coordinate next steps for facility use planning.
