A representative from Whitaker said the update focused on building interventions and encouraging staff to use funds for after‑school supports. Emory’s principal said ELAC asked for more workshops and stronger communication; Gilbert’s principal said earlier timelines limited prior planning, and the May revisions allowed a more data‑driven and collaborative approach. Corey’s principal noted the site was designated an ATSI school for chronic absenteeism and had received a "most improved attendance" award.
Trustee Jensen moved to approve the plans; Trustee Michelle (Estrada) seconded and the motion passed 5–0.
Board members praised the principals for their work and noted the revised timeline will allow sites to start the 2025–26 year with a more finalized and actionable plan. The Board did not enter into individual funding approvals at the meeting; the vote was a collective approval of the single school plans as submitted.
