Titusville CRA approves safety-camera package for Welcome Center up to $7,500

The Titusville Community Redevelopment Agency on May 13 voted unanimously to approve a safety-camera package and a Flock Safety integration gateway for the Welcome Center, not to exceed $7,500.

The action directs staff to purchase a 4K camera package and integrate it with the Flock Safety gateway at the Welcome Center. The executive director said the recommended action was "to approve the 4 k resolution safety camera package and the Flock safety integration gateway wing camera for the welcome center not to exceed $7,500." The agency had no public opposition or submitted cards on the item.

Redevelopment planner Sue Williams and a Titusville Police Department representative, Commander Wright, were present to answer questions, according to the executive director. Member Nelson asked about expanding camera coverage to Scoby Park; staff said further discussions involving IT, public works and CRA staff would follow and that Scoby Park is expected to come before the board in a future agenda item.

The agency approved the purchase on a voice vote with no recorded roll call. The installation and any operational responsibilities will be handled by staff and affected departments, the executive director said. The board did not set an explicit installation timeline during the meeting.

The measure was presented as a focused, site-specific security upgrade for the Welcome Center rather than part of a broader surveillance program under current discussion. Staff will return to the board if additional locations or funding are proposed.
