Primary Health Care tells Story County dental visits have risen; clinic braces for more uninsured patients

Nathan Simpson, CEO of Primary Health Care, told the Story County Board of Supervisors on May 13 that his organization's Ames dental clinic experienced about a 15% increase in visit volume from fiscal year 2023 to fiscal year 2024 and expects modest further increases in fiscal year 2025.
"Since prior year, fiscal year 23 to fiscal year 24, we experienced about a 15 increase in visit volume," Simpson said. He said a change in reporting in fiscal year 2024 means the clinic's published county-only statistics cannot be backfilled to earlier years after an electronic records switch.
