He estimated the building will be ready for school occupancy in August 2026 and said interior work continues; project meetings are held twice a month and he conducts site checks multiple times per week. Mountain View remains in design; the team expects design completion around October of this year and will proceed to a request for proposals (RFP) for the contractor once designs are finalized.
Superintendent Luck briefed the board on cleanup bidding for DeBrennam Stadium after the flood. She said the district has been working with its insurance carrier and that the earliest contractor bid for the cleanup was “fairly high,” with an estimate above $500,000. The proposed scope includes removal of debris, elimination of small buildings, pressure‑washing of permanent structures, topsoil removal of approximately 6–8 inches, replacement of sprinkler systems, and electrical work to address a submerged electrical box. Bleacher facilities appear salvageable, Luck said, but the district has asked the contractor to itemize costs for the insurer’s review so the insurance adjuster can validate the high bid.
Board members asked whether staff had tested the stadium electrical systems; Luck replied adjusters inspected the electrical components but the district had not yet turned the power on to confirm operability. Staff said the district is trying to avoid actions that would jeopardize insurance coverage and will follow insurer guidance. The district hopes to resume mid‑school football at DeBrennam in the fall but said contingency plans are in place.
Jeremy Sanchez described Nancy Lopez site challenges (weather/rain delays) and said subcontractor work and interior phases are progressing. He said Mountain View design meetings are scheduled and that the district plans to run construction simultaneously on Nancy Lopez and the later Mountain View contract once the RFP is published.
