Main Street Guymon reports community cleanup results and names bilingual board chair

Main Street Guymon presented its monthly director's report to the City Council, highlighting volunteer efforts, social-media growth and outreach to Hispanic-owned downtown businesses.
Director Ronnie Wilson told the council the citywide cleanup collected 15,560 pounds of garbage (not counting tree limbs), with 68 volunteers contributing 321 volunteer hours. Wilson praised the sanitation department and said some cleanup numbers were still being submitted.
Wilson also introduced Jose Howdeny as Main Street Guymon's 2025 board chair. Howdeny, a U.S. Navy veteran and Guymon resident for 29 years, said he will prioritize outreach to Spanish-speaking business owners and will accompany the director on store visits to build relationships and encourage participation in downtown events.
Program calendar and outreach: Main Street said the farmers market will run from the first weekend in July through September with "Meet Me at the Market" activities planned each Saturday. The organization also reported 53 new Facebook followers in the past month and continued downtown business visits.
Vote and next steps: This item was a monthly report; no council action was required. Main Street will continue outreach, prepare for the farmers market and report progress to the council at future meetings.
