Fall River Housing Authority approves contract amendment, awards fire-alarm and completes Riley Plaza boiler project

Separately, the board awarded the HUD-funded fire alarm system replacement contract at D'Farrell Village (Mass 6-3) to La Rossi Electrical Contractors for $68,300, a low-bid award announced during the modernization agenda item.
The authority described the Amendment No. 14 work as funding to replace failing gas lines and other state-site modernization items (award number O95192 and related formula funding awards were cited). The board member motions for the amendment, the certificate of completion and the contract award were each made and seconded in open session and approved by voice vote.
The board was told the amendment would formally appear on next month’s agenda for any additional approvals required by HUD or state offices; the executive director said memoranda of agreement with neighboring housing authorities would follow the board’s action if the board elects to proceed.
