County assessor proposes three teller windows in courthouse hallway; committee recommends moving forward pending contractor pricing

A representative of the Oklahoma County assessor's office on May 9 asked the infrastructure committee to recommend a build-out of three teller windows in the Third Floor west hallway to provide public service access from the corridor and free up existing public space for staff work.
The assessor's office representative said the plan would "reutilize some of our area for our office and create a 3 teller window build out for the public to access us from the hallway," allowing the office to convert its current public-facing space into internal office space. The presenter added the change would also add a security layer to help the office respond to public-health or safety events in the future.
On funding and procurement, the presenter told the committee, "We have funding in place for the project, and we have 3 quotes from different vendors." Staff said one quote required minor clarifications but that the office expects to be ready to proceed once vendor responses are finalized.
A committee member moved that the committee recommend proceeding "pending the successful ... submission by a contractor, at the price within the budget that you're anticipating that will be fully funded." That motion was seconded and approved on a voice vote.
No formal contract award was made at the meeting. The committee's recommendation is contingent on a contractor submitting a bid within the stated budget; staff said they will return with vendor details as soon as clarifications are resolved.
The presenter said a second phase would follow later: after the hallway windows are built, the office plans to remove the current public area and convert that space for staff use.
