Miss Purvis explained the funding: $126,473.42 are county bond funds that were earmarked specifically for McDeeds Creek at the time the school was built; $71,866.08 will come from after‑school/daycare and PTA funds. She said playgrounds are not included in original FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) budgets for a new school and that the existing playground is undersized for current enrollment. Litigation that previously affected spending for the school has been resolved, allowing the district to proceed.
A motion to award the bid to Creative Playscapes for $198,339.50 was made by Miss Davis and seconded by Miss Bruno; the motion carried.
Board members clarified that the bond funds are restricted to McDeeds Creek and cannot be transferred to other schools absent a change in the underlying referendum terms.
