Kenilworth Planning Board finds ordinance on houses of worship consistent with master plan

The Kenilworth Planning Board approved a resolution finding Ordinance 2025-3, concerning permitted uses for houses of worship in the Commercial Zone District, consistent with the borough master plan.

At the meeting, Mister Rego, staff member, said, "At our March 13 meeting, we heard Kevin, wax eloquent on a proposed, an ordinance proposed by the governing body involving houses of worship, the permitted uses in the Commercial Zone District. The board, after hearing Kevin, the board decided that it was consistent with the master plan. Kevin, offered his opinion that it was consistent with the master plan, and we so moved that." Kevin, planner (on phone), was identified during the discussion as having offered the professional opinion that the ordinance is consistent with the master plan.

Mister Grimaldi, board member, moved to approve the memorializing resolution; Mister Maggio, board member, seconded the motion. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from Mister Versarno (yes), Mister Maggio (yes), Mister Panchina (yes), Mister Scuderi (yes) and Mister Grimaldi (yes). The motion carried and the resolution was memorialized.

The resolution memorializes the board's prior finding and records the planner's consistency opinion from the March 13 meeting. No formal directions to staff or further conditions were recorded during the vote.
