The Missoula Parking Commission approved a resolution to set the commission’s existing jurisdictional boundary map for presentation to Missoula City Council.
Jody explained that a recent city ordinance amendment removed exhibit A — the map that has defined the commission’s jurisdiction — and that council action is now required to reestablish the boundary in order for the commission to continue operating under a defined jurisdiction. "This is literally just a quirk of how our approval or request for approval to expand our boundary and the jurisdiction is in front of council based. Somehow that process, we vacated our jurisdiction, and we can't operate without a jurisdiction. So this is just replacing it, what we already had," Jody said.
A motion to approve the resolution was made and seconded; the board approved it by voice (ayes) and the item will be taken to a council committee the next day as staff had planned.
