The Clinton County Council accepted the annual tax-abatement CF-1 report for the Hardy Hills solar energy project and authorized the filing as presented.
A county staff member reviewing the packet told council members the project showed assessed-value increases consistent with earlier projections and that the company had substantially complied with its investment commitments. The presenter noted the project is taxed as a utility and that the assessed value for utilities is determined at the state level rather than by local officials. "They are obviously very much substantially in compliance, with what they projected when the time that at the time that they asked for the abatement," the presenter said.
Councilmember Joe moved to approve the CF-1 tax-abatement annual report; Mary seconded. The motion carried 6-0. The county also noted receipt of a second installment of a 10-year economic development payment; combined payments so far total just shy of $900,000, per the packet presented at the meeting.
