The Missoula Parking Commission authorized staff to proceed with selecting a consultant to prepare a conditions assessment and a maintenance plan for its Central Park, Park Place and Roam garages, with a budget not to exceed $50,000.
Jody Pilgrim, director of the Missoula Parking Commission, said staff received quotes from Walker Consultants and Desmond and were awaiting a third from Martin & Martin. Pilgrim told the commission the expected cost would be under $50,000, below the city procurement threshold that would require a formal RFP.
Pilgrim said the maintenance plan will document items for annual staff work and identify optional near‑, mid‑ and long‑term maintenance tasks to aid budgeting and stewardship of the commission’s assets. Commissioner Tiffany Brander moved to approve staff selection of a consultant with a maximum budget of $50,000; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Commissioners noted that the Bank Street repair work includes a maintenance plan specific to that structure and that a separate consultant effort will cover other garages. Board members stressed that a commission‑wide maintenance plan is a priority for asset preservation.
