The board also accepted several individual superintendent recommendations: Doctor Steven Hornyak for the newly created position of chief innovation officer; Nicholas Brooks as athletic director at Warner Robins Middle School; and Benjamin Bailey as assistant principal of discipline at Warner Robins High School. All appointments were approved by voice vote, 7-0.
The board also approved two new job descriptions: assistant athletic trainer and chief innovation officer, with the chief innovation officer job description adopted as written. The district approved a new organizational chart for the 2025-26 district leadership team as presented.
Separately, the board approved the superintendent—s recommendation to terminate the employment of Ayesha Tucker, a school food service worker at Perry High School, citing job abandonment; that motion also carried 7-0.
Board members framed the personnel approvals as routine superintendent recommendations. The motions to approve the personnel report and the individual hires were made and seconded by board members on the record during the meeting; all motions passed unanimously.
