The Wappingers Central School District Board of Education on May 12 unanimously upheld a suspension imposed by the superintendent and principal related to student number 051225.
The board “hereby upholds the decision of the superintendent of schools dated 03/26/2025, which endorsed the suspension imposed by the principal dated 03/04/2025 regarding student number 051225,” language read as part of the resolution approved by the board. Marie Johnson moved the motion and Trustee Kellen seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The resolution also authorized the board president to sign the board determination letter on the board’s behalf and authorized the district clerk to mail the determination to the student’s parents. The action was listed on the agenda under the section to “reject, confirm, modify, or appeal the superintendent’s short term discipline.”
The board made no further public comments about the underlying facts of the suspension at the meeting. The resolution and vote were recorded in the meeting minutes and will be sent to the family as the formal board determination.
The action followed the board’s public agenda process and occurred before the meeting moved on to public comments and other business.
