Board awards multiple bond‑funded construction contracts and approves RTU change order

The Union Public Schools Board of Education approved a series of bond‑funded construction contracts and a change order for district facilities.
On the consent agenda, the board separately approved Change Order No. 1 with American Air Conditioning of Tulsa LLC for the districtwide rooftop unit replacement project in the amount of $163,766 from bond funds.
Subsequent competitive bids and awards approved by the board included: - Fascia replacement at the alternative education building awarded to Construction Enterprises Inc., $118,711 (bond funds). - Unit ventilator replacements at Freshman Academy awarded to American Air Conditioning of Tulsa LLC, $374,700 (bond funds); staff said approximately 16 unit ventilators and actuators will be replaced because units were original to the 1987 building and beyond repair. - Exterior painting at Moore Elementary awarded to Magnum Construction Inc., $110,950 (bond funds). - Innovation Lab Phase 3 aviation classrooms (framing two classrooms) awarded to Magnum Construction Inc., $259,000 (bond funds). - Complete roof replacement at Jarman Elementary awarded to Alba Roofing Company, $1,745,000 (bond funds).
Contracting staff described the scope of the projects, materials to be used (metal paneling to replace EIFS fascia, modified bitumen for roof), and timing considerations. Board votes on each item were recorded as affirmative by all voting members.
District staff said the ventilator and RTU work was identified after testing with the new building automation system, and the roof project includes insulation and a modified bitumen cap sheet. Work will proceed under typical procurement and construction administration processes.
