The Bryan City Council authorized the Clerk/Treasurer to advertise for bids for roofing work at the Don North Municipal Building, with staff saying plans and cost estimates are nearly complete.
Public works staff member Andy told council the building needs reshingling and that architects have prepared plans; the current roof dates from about 1997 and some areas have suffered loss of roofing material. Council voted to suspend the rules and approve advertising for bids so the project can move forward.
Councilmembers approved the resolution authorizing the clerk‑treasurer to solicit bids, and staff said they are awaiting final plans and estimates before awarding a contract after the bidding process.
