Parks and Recreation Director David Gill told the council that adding hundreds of hours of nighttime play would increase wear on the grass field: “if it's used all those hours, within a year or 2, that will no longer be a grass field,” Gill said, adding that additional closures, reseeding and maintenance would be required if usage rose to the levels projected by staff.
