The Tippecanoe County Council approved a $200,000 appropriation from the Lit Economic Development Fund to cover legal fees related to additional litigation, council members voted during the May 13 meeting.
Commissioner/Staff member Paula explained the request: “We’ve actually been hit with a few additional cases this year. And so this is just to help us with our legal fees.”
Councilwoman Vernon moved the appropriation; Councilwoman Murray seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote with no recorded opposition.
When asked whether more funds might be requested in the future, Paula said, “Possibly. Depends on how litigation goes in some of those cases.”
