Cookeville — The Cookeville City Council on May 1 authorized the city manager to enter an agreement with FTM Contracting for site preparation, parking and related site work adjacent to the splash pad and playground at Cane Creek Park.
Mister Woods, city staff, described the scope as grading and site preparation for a splash pad, playground and a parking lot that will serve the new amenities and the existing pickleball area. He said the splash pad and playground themselves had previously been approved and that the city received two bids for the site-preparation work; FTM Contracting was the low bid meeting specifications.
Councilman Baji moved to award the contract; Vice Mayor Eldridge seconded. The council voted 5-0 to authorize the city manager to execute the agreement.
Woods displayed layout drawings showing the splash pad, playground and parking areas. The council did not record a contract dollar amount in the meeting presentation.
