Glenview CCSD 34 approves village agreement for Pleasant Ridge sidewalk improvements
Summary
The board approved an agreement with the village to allow a strip of sidewalk to extend onto district property at Pleasant Ridge; district will maintain the sidewalk as in similar prior agreements.
Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Eric Miller briefed the board on a village agreement to construct and maintain a strip of sidewalk that will extend slightly onto district property at Pleasant Ridge. Miller said the village will construct the sidewalk and the district will maintain it, consistent with prior sidewalk arrangements for other schools.
Board members asked for an address clarification (1730 Ridge Road vs. 1730 Sunset Ridge Road) and staff affirmed the location on Ridge Road. The board then voted by roll call to approve the agreement; the motion carried.
Staff said the sidewalk will allow neighborhood residents and children to walk to the school and pointed out the route goes through the back of the property. The district will continue to maintain the sidewalk after construction as in similar previous arrangements.
