Senator L.B. Gray Jackson told the Senate Finance Committee that Senate Bill 6 would require Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) education across K–12 schools in Alaska.
Jackson said the bill nearly passed in the prior legislative session and the sponsor and supporters believe it is important to include AAPI curriculum in state education standards. "What the bill does is it requires Asian American Pacific Islander education in schools, K through 12," Jackson said in committee testimony.
