The Lake Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 12, 2025, unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing National Police Week (May 11–17) and Peace Officers Memorial Day (May 15) and commending school-based law enforcement and local partner agencies.
Chief Chad Springer presented the resolution to the board and read its text into the record. He asked members to stand and said, "Can I ask y'all to please stand?" The resolution as read notes the congressional and presidential designation of National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day and "expresses the district’s deepest gratitude to all school-based law enforcement personnel." It specifically names the Lake Dallas ISD Police Department and local agencies that partner with the district.
Trustee Scott Baird moved to approve the resolution; Trustee Bruce Smith seconded. The board voted 7-0 to adopt the resolution. Board members offered brief remarks of appreciation following the vote. President Stacy said the board does not thank law enforcement enough and added, "I really do appreciate everything all you guys do." After adoption the board invited officers forward for photographs.
