Board approves remaining branding projects and a small set of capital maintenance projects

The Waunakee Community School District board approved a set of branding projects and a limited list of capital maintenance projects Monday after facility committee review.
Facility committee members presented a remaining inventory of branding projects and recommended approval of several items; they also asked the maintenance team to explore repurposing older wrestling mats. Committee members said the district has previously funded branding investments such as entrance signage and that the current list reflects remaining opportunities.
The board also approved a small list of district-wide capital maintenance projects for the upcoming summer. Staff told the board a larger list had been reviewed in April and the items presented in May were a narrower set recommended for immediate work. The motions to approve the branding projects and the capital maintenance projects passed on voice votes.
Facility committee members noted they will reconvene to review outdoor spaces at the new middle school, including the track, fencing and a possible shed, and plan to bring cost estimates and recommendations back to the board for future consideration.
