Trophy Club to begin CWD waste service June 1; new green recycling carts to arrive late May

Town Manager Brandon briefed council and the public on a near‑term transition to a new waste hauler, CWD, that will take effect on June 1. He said CWD crews will begin delivering 18‑gallon green recycling carts to residents beginning Monday, May 26.
Brandon and town customer‑service staff explained that the blue Republic recycling bins currently in use will not be collected by the new provider after a transition period; residents may drop those blue bins at a 30‑yard roll‑off at the West side of the HD Supply parking area between Sunday, May 25 and Friday, June 6, or keep them for personal use but not place them at curbside for collection after the change.
Why it matters: collection days and container rules will change when the new contract begins. Residents who continue to place old blue bins at the curb after the transition may receive tags on the containers beginning June 9 and the town will stop collecting those bins after June 16.
Service options and scheduling Brandon said residents who want the larger 95‑gallon recycling cart can sign up via the town website and CWD will deliver the larger cart on the next scheduled recycling day. Tamara, a town customer‑service representative, told residents that if they need two or three recycling bins beyond the single green cart delivered initially they may contact the town or CWD customer service to schedule additional carts; CWD will deliver extras on the resident's next recycling date.
Collection day changes and guidance Brandon warned that collection days in some parts of town will shift slightly (examples included Tuesday/Friday vs. Monday/Thursday schedules and four different recycling zones). He urged residents to consult the town website for their exact schedule and said town staff expect a short period of increased phone contacts while residents adjust to the new system.
