Highway department begins construction season; Cedarville Road closed for multi-week full-depth reclamation

Highway Department representative Brent told the committee that a full-depth reclamation project on Cedarville Road has begun and affects about 2.5 miles; he advised motorists to avoid the closed section and said the work could continue for "another six to possibly eight weeks," depending on curing times for the materials used. Brent also said a mile-and-a-half segment on Lamb Road, with associated recycling work, is scheduled to begin in about 10 days. In addition, the highway department plans approximately 7.5 miles of steel coating as part of the county's pavement-preservation program this summer.
Brent said crews have completed crack-sealing preparations in advance of the larger projects and reminded residents that equipment parked near roads on Fridays is part of active work, not an abandoned crew. There were no formal actions or votes on these items; the report was given as an informational update to the committee.
