Jessica, a student announcer at Rosemont High School, told students taking college classes that completed Antelope Valley College enrollment forms received in the Southern Kern College Center by April 26 will be taken to Antelope Valley College by school staff.
“Get your special meds to Miss Galindo, and she'll take all completed forms to Antelope Valley College that are received in the Southern Kern College Center by April 26,” Jessica said on the school's morning bulletin. The announcer also said students can continue to enroll after April 26 but “you don't be responsible for sending all documents to ABC,” a statement that the bulletin did not clarify further.
The announcement identified the Southern Kern College Center as the drop-off location and Miss Galindo as the staff member who will deliver forms to Antelope Valley College. The bulletin did not specify what documents are required, which programs are affected, or whether the school or the college will accept electronic submissions.
Students seeking to use the staff-delivery option should confirm required paperwork directly with the counseling office or Miss Galindo, the announcement indicated but did not show that school staff provided additional details.
The bulletin did not cite a district policy or statutory authority that authorizes the school to transport student enrollment documents to the college.
