The Town of Uxbridge Select Board on May 5 closed a continued public hearing and voted not to recommend Tea Party Drive for layout and acceptance at this time.
Board members said a petition had been submitted that required the board to either vote to lay out the street or vote not to do so within seven days. The board closed the hearing and then approved a motion not to accept the street for layout and acceptance; the decision will be filed with the town clerk.
The procedural vote followed earlier favorable action on a related warrant article in mid‑April, but board members clarified that a separate administrative vote on the layout itself remained required. The motion to close the public hearing was moved by Mr. Plascow and seconded by Mr. Mandilly; the subsequent motion not to accept the street for layout and acceptance carried by unanimous voice vote.
The board gave no further substantive discussion on construction details during the meeting; the action records the board’s current position and clears the procedural requirement for the town clerk filing.
