Board approves purchase of 2026 Freightliner dump truck via state pricing; delivery expected this fall

Mike Grady of Truck Center Companies explained state pricing works like cooperative procurement (similar to Sourcewell) and that the truck would be built to the county’s specifications. Delivery was estimated for October–November 2025. Jim said he budgeted $230,000 for the purchase; the quote came in at $232,934. He explained the purchase relies on an anticipated trade‑in (budgeted) to make the replacement feasible.
Commissioners discussed whether to sell equipment on Purple Wave versus trading it in; staff said trade‑ins allow them to meet budget constraints and secure the vehicle. A motion to accept the Truck Center quote and authorize staff to sign the agreement carried unanimously.
No amendment to the purchase price was recorded at the meeting; staff said they would proceed under the state pricing contract and follow the delivery timeline provided by the vendor.
