Trustees sought confirmation that capital outlay (Fund 16) could cover the exploration and potential construction, and staff said Fund 16 had adequate balance and that the district could include the expenditure in the 2025–26 budget if trustees pursued it. The board agreed — by consensus and with staff confirming a $20,000 limit on A&E services — to proceed with design documents that would enable later construction bidding and formal approvals.
Administrators said any larger construction authorization would return to the board for formal approval after schematic design, cost estimates and bidding; tonight’s action authorized the preliminary design phase and budgeting up to $20,000 for A&E services.
