Board extends Chartwells food service management; community eligibility participation confirmed

A district nutrition official reported that the district remains eligible for the CEP, which enables free school meals through federal meal reimbursements for qualifying schools. The board then moved to approve the Chartwells contract; the motion passed with the board announcing an affirmative vote of 6–1.
Administrators presented the standard state-required net plate-cost documentation as part of the contract approval process. Trustees asked only clarifying questions and thanked Chartwells for a Cinco de Mayo sample presentation that district staff had prepared for the meeting.
The contract extension places food service operations with Chartwells for the upcoming school year under the terms presented to the board; the motion was adopted and recorded in the meeting minutes.
