Diana Cutting of National Grid told the council the work would serve a housing development planned by Sophia Second Street LLC and that the company will submit a traffic management plan with police details, signage and other standard safety measures as part of the permit process. Councilor Rogers opposed the action, citing National Grid’s handling of a separate waterfront path issue under Chapter 91; other councilors asked only that National Grid ensure the usual traffic controls.
The council voted in favor of the petition; the clerk recorded the result as "10 yeas, 1 nay" and the item passed.
