Chairman Brandon Shoop read the proclamation honoring the Salvation Army’s local and national service, noting the organization’s long presence in Dothan and its role in disaster relief, food assistance, and community programs. Major Linda Peyton of the Salvation Army thanked the commission and noted the local corps has served Dothan for 113 years and highlighted an upcoming free spaghetti lunch as part of the week’s events.
Blake Seymour, chairman of the Salvation Army advisory board, spoke briefly to thank the community and urged continued support for the organization’s work, including recent local disaster response efforts.
