The youth baseball organization will pay for the structure and donate electrical work; the city maintains a use agreement with Portage Youth Baseball and staffs said no additional city funds were required for the building itself.
A board member moved to refer the press-box proposal to the planning commission and the motion was seconded and carried by roll call (Camrath: yes; Carlson: yes; McReese: yes; Sulik: aye; Bernander: aye; Donahue: aye). Parks staff said the group will work with city planning staff on required site-plan details and that the project would be managed to meet city codes.
