Martin MPO accepts $26,000 TD planning grant and recommends Senior Resource Association as CTC

The Martin County MPO unanimously approved an annual planning grant from the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged and recommended a Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) on May 12, 2025.
MPO staff said the planning grant is a routine, no-local-match award of about $26,000 used to staff the local coordinating board for transportation-disadvantaged services. “There is no local match, and that is for the MPO,” staff told the board. Staff recommended approval.
Commissioner Edward Campe moved to accept staff’s recommendation to approve the planning grant; the motion carried unanimously.
On the related item, the MPO reviewed proposals for the community transportation coordinator, the agency that coordinates services for seniors, people with disabilities and low-income residents who qualify for TD rides. Staff and the local coordinating board recommended Senior Resource Association (SRA) as the CTC for a five-year period. Commissioner Campe moved to accept the recommendation; a board member seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. Staff explained the MPO will forward the recommendation to the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged in Tallahassee for final approval at its early-June business meeting.
