Golf Manor Village committee members discussed logistics for the village's Juneteenth celebration, reporting vendor sign-ups, a temporary liquor license, entertainment, and health-department permitting requirements for food vendors.
Committee Member Gwen said the event had 10 registered vendors and 9 paid registrations. She reported a $10 donation and said the group had raised $235 minus processing fees. "Rob Butler, you applied for the liquor license. We actually have it," Gwen said, noting the license for the event is a temporary permit.
Gwen said she asked the village solicitor to investigate whether the village could obtain a blanket health inspection to cover food vendors. She reported the solicitor found that a blanket inspection was not available and that each vendor must apply for a separate food permit and pay $65 for an inspection. The committee discussed alternatives if a hot food vendor cannot be secured, including cooking hot dogs on-site or relying on donated food, and agreed to follow up with the health department to confirm rules for donated versus sold food.
Entertainment for the event will be provided pro bono by Cincinnati Service Company, which committed a bass player and a balloon artist from 5 to 8 p.m. Committee members said that if the village cannot secure a food truck, volunteers could grill at the event, but that the health department and permit requirements still need confirmation.
No formal council action was taken on vendor contracts or permits at the meeting. Committee members assigned follow-up tasks including contacting potential food vendors, confirming health-department rules on donated food, and coordinating donated water and ice for the event.
