Council approves application to state for CDBG funds totaling $150,000

The Medina City Council on May 12 authorized submission of an application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the Ohio Department of Development, Office of Community Development.
Planning and Community Development Director Dutton told council this year’s application will request four activities: $75,000 for Medina County Public Transit; $45,000 for code enforcement in low-to-moderate income areas; $5,000 for fair-housing activities; and $25,000 for administration, totaling $150,000.
Council adopted Resolution 86-25 by roll call vote 7-0 to authorize staff to submit the application and, if awarded, accept the funds. Dutton described the application as the city’s biannual request for CDBG funds and said it includes the activities and allocations listed in the application.
