At the ceremony the host read the names of students receiving awards across several content areas, including mathematics, English language arts, science, social studies, Spanish, chorus and physical education. Named students included Xavier Burns, Ellie Faust, Bree Lucas Sprunk, Isabelle Ashtras, Ava Astu, Parker Daniels, Isabella Dugan, Lehi Dooley, Hayden Dornette, Ryan Foley and Nick Frate among others announced during the event.
The staff member gave students brief advice about preparing for high school, saying, "High school is a fresh start for all of you. You are gonna be the little fish. You guys need to put your cell phones down sometimes." The host also encouraged students to seek opportunities and warned against leaving tasks until the last minute.
School logistics mentioned during the event included instructions that families could drop suitcases and water at the event entrance between 7 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, or at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning; the staff member said those times were available for early drop-off.
The host acknowledged the counselors, teachers and volunteers who organized the ceremony and noted that much of the work was done by staff members outside their paid duties. The event concluded with continued recognition of winners across academic and extracurricular categories.
