The council declared Council member place 5 elected: Gary Ash; and Council member place 6 elected: Steve Flynn, each for three-year terms subject to taking the oath of office. Judge Greg Bertrand administered the oaths and the council issued certificates of election to both members.
Council member Gary Ash, newly sworn in to place 5, thanked voters and said, “First of all, thank you everybody for being here tonight. This is, amazing time... I wanna thank all those people that voted for me, but the most important thing is the people that voted, period.” Council member Steve Flynn was sworn in for place 6 after being reelected.
No public commenters were signed up for the meeting’s public-comment period. The council recessed briefly and planned to reconvene at 6:15 p.m.
