Facility reports three open detention-officer posts and 10 youths in custody

At the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Oversight Board meeting April 14, staff reported the facility had 10 youth in custody and three open full-time female detention-officer positions.
Lynn Duke, presenting the open-positions and population reports, said the morning census showed 10 young people in the facility: five from Rutherford County and one each from Coffey, Franklin, Gibson, Lauderdale and Sumner counties. On staffing she said, "As of today, we have 3 open full time female detention officers, and then we have 4 pending FMLAs that we have all we have filled all of our other positions." Board members had no questions and accepted both the open-positions and data reports without objection.
No staffing hires or formal personnel actions were voted at the meeting; the reports were entered on the record and accepted by unanimous consent.
