Butler County recycling event schedule and new rules shared with Morgan Township residents

The county’s published schedule includes a household hazardous-waste drop-off every Thursday between July and Oct. 30 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Republic Services, 3555 Yankee Road, Middletown; a computer and television drop-off every Friday between July and Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cohen Middletown, 3120 South Verity Parkway; and a tire-recycling event Saturday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Butler County Fairgrounds. Trustee Jeff noted that Butler County requires proof of county residency (for example, a driver’s license) and that the tire event imposes a 10-tire limit per household; tires with rims are accepted.
Why it matters: the schedule gives residents local options for disposing hazardous household materials, electronics and tires, and the residency requirement affects who can use the services.
Trustees agreed to post updated information to the township website and Facebook page and to follow up with county officials about the possibility of hosting local events if demand warrants.
