RFPs issued for school coolers and freezers; Belter selected for Sweetwater and Alexander purchases

The Douglas County School System presented two procurement items May 5: requests for proposals to purchase and install coolers and freezers at Sweetwater Elementary School and Alexander High School. Both RFPs were publicly posted on the district website, the Bonfire portal and the Georgia Procurement Registry, the board was told.
Danielle Freeman, executive director of school nutrition, said a procurement review committee evaluated proposals on the published criteria and recommended Belter for both projects. "Based on the evaluation process, Belter was selected as the company for the cooler and freezer purchase and installation," Freeman said.
Assistant directors of business services reviewed the procurement process for transparency and policy compliance, the presentation added. Both items were presented for discussion and will return to the board for formal approval at the May 19 meeting.
