Parks Commission approves seasonal community-art garden for Grove Park

The Parks and Recreation Commission on May 7 approved a seasonal public-art installation called “How Does Your Garden Grow,” proposed by Public Arts Midland and presented by Creative 360 executive director Laura Vazeka.
The project asks community members to decorate cutout flowers, butterflies and other shapes that organizers will clear-coat and mount on trellises attached to the metal fencing around the Grove Park playground. “We are gonna grow a garden and it’s gonna be a beautiful garden of flowers that people in the community are creating,” Laura Vazeka said during the commission meeting.
