City staff: binding agreement for 8509 Line Avenue expected before May 13; council approval required

Mr. Doark, a city staff member, told the Shreveport City Public Safety Committee on April 21 that staff plan to enter into a binding agreement for the property at 8509 Line Avenue and expect to present a related contract to the City Council on May 13.
"We're gonna the the plan is to enter into a binding agreement subject to an bridal, and, hopefully, we'll have that before you on the May 13," Mr. Doark said. He added that "the contract will require council approval." The committee chair introduced the item during the committee's April 21 meeting discussion of agenda item B.
The committee discussion did not include further details about the agreement's terms, the purchaser or counterparty, or financial considerations. Committee members did not take a formal vote on the matter at the meeting; staff framed the item as a pending contract that will be routed to the City Council for approval.
Committee members requested the item be brought to the Council agenda on May 13 and were told that staff expect to have the required documentation prepared by then. No final contract or funding amount was presented at the committee meeting.
